Why am I not seeing any deer on public hunting land? killed 2 doe, but not seen any good bucks hardly see deer?

In our local public hunting lands, it is impossible to predict any day hunting. You never know what to expect %26amp; can not guarantee that you will get to sit the same place twice...It's first come, first serve. The hunters are allowed to move about freely after 10am... even though an area that may be occupied! I don't agree with some of the management... we don't have hunting on Sundays %26amp; the public lands are open to the public... People just love to walk their dogs down the hunting trails... There are tons of stands, but you have no control over any of the area or how it is hunted... Here it is generally more a case of not enough pressure on the deer... during the gun seasons. Except maybe opening %26amp; closing day. Unlike private land... you will have a hard time setting up on a certain buck %26amp; hope he follows his normal routine... It's pretty much pot luck. Why am I not seeing any deer on public hunting land? killed 2 doe, but not seen any good bucks hardly see deer?
Maybe you're in the wrong stand or everybody is buck hunting cause they want a wall hanger and kill every buck that steps out. As for the other deer its public land so those are educated deer besides the fact they're probably being killed left and right. Well its the Rut here I don't know about where you're at but if it is go get some doe estrous and dip some (alot of people use tampons) or paper towels in it and hang around your stand or blind.
Probably overhunted, does usually have 2 fawns per litter so you can expect 6 less deer next year. Deer usually leave public land for private land that isn't hunted during hunting season because it's safer, or they get shot. Either way it's difficult to find them on public land.
I'd probably have to guess there's a lot of hunting pressure on public lands. Plus...depending on where you live the rut may be about over (as it is in Tx) so the deer are not as ';dumb';.
It could be over hunted, if there is corn still in they will hide in that. But since it is public I bet it is to over hunted.
The key word is ';public';. Try getting back into the woods farther than anyone else. Then you will start seeing deer. Most hunters on public land won't walk very far from their vehicles.
because every one has ether killed them already or there too smart to go there again
