Deer hunting some moose and black bear which is the best cartridge? 270, 7mm mag, 300 win mag 30 06?

Lets debate im buying a new thompson center ventureDeer hunting some moose and black bear which is the best cartridge? 270, 7mm mag, 300 win mag 30 06?
All would work great with good shot placement. None would without. That being said, any would be a good choice. I'd shy away from the smaller .270 though. The .300 would be a little expensive to shoot and not necessary. That would leave you with the 7mm Remington Magnum or the die hard 30-06. My preference is the 7mm. I currently shoot 170 grain bullets out of mine. That is more than enough to take down anything in Norh America. But don't look past the 06. It's tried and true. Ammo availability and endless cartridge options is always good.Deer hunting some moose and black bear which is the best cartridge? 270, 7mm mag, 300 win mag 30 06?
My dad has hunted with a 270. win and a 270. win only for the last 25 years and has taken 3 whitetail, (1 buck and 2 does) hes taken 5 moose (4 bulls and 1 cow), 1 black bear, and 4 caribou ( all bulls) he has not had a problem taking any of them, so anyone saying its too light its not.

personally i love the 270. win but i would take the 7mm rem mag only because it does everything the 270. win but better.
Before you buy the 300 win mag, you might try to borrow one to see how much the kick bothers you. If it is too much you won't shoot as well and will stop enjoying your rifle.

I've always thought the 30-06 is a nice compromise cartridge which can be shot in fairly low weights for deer or heavier for elk and moose. Some think the .270 to be a little too light - others like it when they always do good shot placement.
Just my 2 cents. But a guy cant go wrong with the 30-06 or .338 win mag. And guess what guides and hunters carry here in Alaska a lot? The same. The .338 win mag was the king of the elk rounds long ago and it still works on big critters. And personally I prefer the recoil of the 338 over the .300 mag. Feels good lol!

There was this old famous hunter named Col. Townsend who said you cant go wrong with the 30-06. He took about every critter you could imagine with it on several continents. As he said “it’s not the best for some things” but for a all round big game rifle the 06’ isn’t shabby.

I carry a 338 win mag for bears, moose and elk, the 06 for deer, black bear and antelope.

The thompson center will work fine if your good with it.
* All you really need is the tried, true, tested , and proved to be the Most Popular used Rifle for that purpose since 1906 its the 30-06.* Magnums are not necessary, or needed for harvesting any Big Game in North America.* Use the 180 or 220 grain core-lokt bullet by Remington.*
I own a 7mm rem mag and i LOVE it, i can shoot a group about the size of a paper plate at 500 yards with it. At 200 yards im stacking bullets, im 17 years old and have been shooting since i was 9. But for all the animals you choose i would pick the 7mm rem mag because of its flat trajectory and good variety of bullet grains. Hope i helped.
my vote is for 300 win mag. lots of power. cost about 25 bucks for a box of 20 (not bad). recoil isn't terrible. you could get a limb saver recoil pad and a scope with a long eye relief and be just fine.
well i own a 30.06 and it is great it shoots flat. at a 100 yards site in i'm off only like a quarter inch great gun . i have the savage
i own all of those but the 270

i would pick the 30-06 for a good all around gun
buy the 300 win mag and take the beating like a real girl does BOOYAH
