Okay why use the EMF meters for ghost hunting.?

Forgive my ignorance but I have not understood why this instrument is used. Do ghosts really emit electric magnetic fields?

If so how? Please educate me.Okay why use the EMF meters for ghost hunting.?
It's the common folklore that ghosts can emit or disturb EM fields, but whether it's true, and whether it can even be known, is a different question.

The use of EMF meters have come about by a general trend in ghost hunting lately to become more ';gadgety';, in other words to put on the trappings of scientific investigation. To most people, that usually means carrying around and using complex electronic equipment and speaking in jargon. Whether that equipment actually delivers measurements that can be analyzed via scientific theory is irrelevant -- the real purpose is to carry it around and to look like you're using it for something important. Sorry that sounds cynical, but that's really what it's for.

There has been no scientific study which supports the correlation between spirits and EMF. In fact, before such a study can even be done, it is necessary to show that spirits exist via scientific, objective measurements, and of course that has not happened. All that you've got right now is ';oh, I just felt a chill... look, the EMF needle jumped! Must be a ghost!';, which is very subjective, badly controlled, bad logic, and not good evidence at all.Okay why use the EMF meters for ghost hunting.?
Electro-Magnetic Field Meters (EMFs) are used in ghost investigations in order to help eliminate one of the many normal explanations for such experiences as ';feeling as someone is watching me';

This theory has been scientifically demonstrated in a laboratory environment by qualified scientists (link below).

They may not prove ghost are present but they may help suggest why people are experiencing ghost.

Unfortunately, many amateur investigators are unaware of the theory, experimental work, or even how to properly use the equipment. Traditional scientist (even parapsychologist) CHOOSE to allow amateurs to remain uninformed and uneducated rather to bother to offer guidelines, standards, and training in investigations.

As a result shows like ';Ghost Hunter'; become considered scientific and funding for parapsychology is reduced due to the public associating the science of parapsychology with the nonsense on TV.
