Though i think Michigan should take a lesson from Missouri and start an Apprenticeship hunter program. This helps those thinking they might wish to hunt see and learn what it's all about before they make a decision to continue on and take the classes if they so choose. Really a great idea.

I would assume that your local city or town clerk's office where you go to get your license can tell you (or give you a book with all the rules and regs). I would imagine that most states require a first time licensee to demonstrate that he (theoretically) knows how to tell the difference between a deer, a man and a cow.Do i need to take a hunter's safety class to go hunting if im over 21?
Same reason we take drivers tests. Being over 21 does not mean you know any thing about hunter safety. This is not meant as a disparaging remark against you. It is a generality. I am sure you know a few people you'd rather not be in the woods with if they have a gun.
Just about anywhere in the U.S. you have to take the course

for your first hunting license.
Not sure, you do in maryland
