When i am hunting for deer how can i tell the difference between a dough fawn and a buck please keep it simple?

As a fawn, does and bucks are pretty much identical. Later in the season, some of the young bucks will show two thin short spikes or maybe even just two small hairless bumps between their ears. Short of looking for a penis through a scope, that's about the only sign of gender at that age. My opinion, they both taste the same and as Ted Nugent said it best ';fawns are deer and need to be controlled just as a mature deer, and their backstraps will be fantastic on my grill.';When i am hunting for deer how can i tell the difference between a dough fawn and a buck please keep it simple?
Fawns have spots and no antlers.

Small bucks will have dark colored antlers started above the eyes where the antlers should be - these are called 'Button Bucks'. However, be warned, it's not unusual for what looks like a button buck to actually be a doe with small ears. It's up to you to know what you are shooting at. When in doubt - get closer.

It would be best if you found a doe and looked her face over really good - then when you find a buck, you will understand.

If you are still in doubt - keep an eye on it until it urinates. The boy deer urinate to the front, girls to the backside.

It's best to leave the babies alone in either case, but if you're unsure, and doing your bit with the doe kill, then you do best to look at them when they're facing you. The top of the girls' heads will come gently up to a central point. The button bucks' heads will have a small central trough, the areas underneath the tiny antler buds being higher than the center of the skull.

Of course, if you're really good, you can just stalk up close enough to look between the legs!
It's pretty simple to confuse a button buck with a doe. Your best bet is not to shoot at small does so you less your chance of confusing the two. Bucks tend to have a more square face, but when I'm hunting I usually don't get too much of a chance to sit there and stare to notice. As long as you don't shoot at little deer, you will be better off. Good luck.
First of all it's spelled DOE - you cant unless you look between their legs.
dont kill a fawn at all, that simple.
