My children (6 and 7) would love to go fossil or gem hunting near the Bay Area. Any suggestions?Fossil hunting for kids near the Bay Area?
I know that there have been a lot of Cenozoic vertebrate fossils found in Blackhawk and around that area, and I've found some bivale fossils in Martinez, but that's about it.
If you really want to get some more info about Bay Area fossils, then you could maybe contact the University of California Museum of Paleontology in Berkeley.
